Rare Titanic Black Mourning Bear By Steiff, 1912. (Fun Facts.)

Christie's Auction House in London, South Kensington, sold on December 4, 2000, an exceptionally fine and rare, though rather sad faced, Steiff Black Teddy Bear for $136,000.00. (Or, 91,750 pounds.) The bear was one of only 600 which were made especially for the British market in May 1912, to show empathy for the loss of the passengers of the R.M.S. Titanic. (Photo by Christie's.) Not long after the Christie's sale, Steiff made a 13 inch reproduction of the toy. ~Lovethemsteiff~

How cool is that! And he still looked pretty good to be a 100 Years old.
