Christopher Robin Milne And His Winnie The Pooh.
I love this photo of Christopher Robin and His Pooh. Christopher is feeding Pooh a cookie, which I'm sure he likes very much. Christopher was born August 21, 1920, so this has been his Birthday week. This Alpha Farnell bear was given to him on his first Birthday. At first the bear was called Edward Bear. Eventually the name evolved into Winnie, which was the name of a tame bear Christopher Robin was allowed to feed at the London Zoo. And Pooh, which was the name of a Swan they met while on vacation. In the first chapter of Winnie-The-Pooh, Milne explains why Winnie-The-Pooh is often just called Pooh. "...his arms were so stiff they stayed up straight in the air for more than a week, and whenever a fly came and settled on his nose, he had to blow it off. And I think - but I am not sure - that that is why he is always called Pooh." *Lovethemsteiff*
